While the previous review was honest that the special features, remastering, audio and video are identical in this novel release there are a couple of things this version of the Prisoner Megaset has that others don’t, but should have had from the win go. The first advantage is this collection has the disk detached in ten slim line cases, which cuts down on your shelf plot considerably compared to previous releases and their chunky sized DVD cases. Also this release has a fine extensive PRINTED episode guide booklet that gives more than unprejudiced a synopsis. You also obtain a minute history of the making of that episode. Another extra is a fold out of the classic village design.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Prisoner: The Complete Series Megaset! Click Here

Now these extras may not be worth the double dipping for those who already bought the previous sets, but for those who never took the fall now is the time. Not only do you come by the vast features from the unique plot, but also stuff you can read and indulge in without having to save a disk in your player. I give the higher rating for this status, which is a more complete and more compact place than all the rest (minus one for not getting it fair the first time) .

Let’s say you’re a business that already has made a fabulous “40th Anniversary Version” of a DVD area with all the bells and whistles… now why should you then be allowed to produce a different version of the same thing only a few years later?

A&E should be ashamed of themselves for doing what everyone lately is now doing: they’ve realized that (most) of the DVD buying public will pick ANYTHING if you re-package it as a “Special Collection,” or a “Ultimate Collection,” “Director’s Cleave,” “Unrated Gash” or “Extended Nick.”

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Prisoner: The Complete Series Megaset! Click Here

But in the case of “The Prisoner: The Complete Series Megaset (Collector’s Edition),” we are seeing the “40th Anniversary State”, unprejudiced with unique packaging.

I have been surfing around as of leisurely and have found NOTHING to characterize to me what’s included in the “unique” package.

Any recent interviews? I don’t know.

Any current lost footage? I don’t know.

Any kind of newer extras not on the “Anniversary version”? I don’t know.

Any other information anywhere online about what’s on it at all? I don’t know.

Remastered? They were the first time around.

Blu-Ray? Yes, but this could have been done with the same package.

You peek where I’m going here. To quote the A&E website, who is also selling it, they are only saying “Within this complete 17-episode state, all is revealed. Or is it? ”

Now what kind of garbagey pap is that? What’s the technical ruin? What’s included that is different from what’s already out there? It makes me wonder why they even needed to remake a “Collector’s State” in the first state.

It is essentially the “40th Anniversary” DVD box plot, fair repackaged with a modern status of covers. As far as I can gaze from the item descriptions of both sets IT’S THE SAME ITEM THEY SOLD TO US A FEW YEARS Support.

To be unbiased, I was overjoyed with that situation as it fed my obsession, and I idea there was nowhere else to go with it. Witness FOR YOURSELF!…

Same running time, same number of discs!

This only leads me to Finish that they are neither adding nor subtracting anything to this release except to repackage a horse that’s been in the corral for over 3 years. But the quiz remains: Why are they doing this?

Well, it’s simple: to sell DVD sets to lots of naive customers who didn’t know the “Anniversary Dwelling” exists and then hold essentially the SAME ITEM at a higher sign!

Used box sets of the “40th” are resplendent cheap suitable now, so why capture the redesigned package? – except to accomplish A&E a few dollars more. Oh, and it’s no tiny coincidence that they are releasing it about the same time as the upcoming AMC series “Prisoner” reboot.

This is gloomy, and once again, A&E should be ashamed of themselves.

And, to sidebar a moment about that unusual series…

Now, even though Ian McKellen has been chosen to play Number Two (and that’s okay), how can anyone account for American actor Jim Caviezel as Number Six when we all know this was a British actor’s dream role?

I really can’t really name a movie or present he’s been in where he impressed me EXCEPT for his performance in “Frequency,” which according to the IMDB website, is all he’s ever done in the sci-fi realm.

I guess I’m picky when it comes to my choice of The Prisoner, because you would reflect they’d save someone in there with a backbone – and DOESN’T Shout IN EVERY SINGLE ROLE HE’S BEEN IN. This potentially sounds Despicable.

I say give me Clive Owen, he seems short-tempered enough, and he proved to me he could tackle the complexities of sci-fi in his elegant role in “Children of Men.”

(Encourage to the DVD review, as I’m digressing too great here… but to procure a bit personal now…)

Cash is king and AMC and A&E are warming their collective hands over the bones of the highly-protective-of-the-series Patrick McGoohan, whom they waited patiently until he died so that they could then open mining his reveal that he created and wanted left untouched.

And to be fair, there are more than a few of us who’d also like to leave this kept pure as well. No, we didn’t need a remake or a reboot, and there are SO many people I know who’ve asked why do it at all?

The release of this DVD residence only goes to display me integrity, like clothing, can be shed for the fair heed, and AMC and A&E will NEVER receive another consumer dollar from ME.

Once again, since there are no technical details available anywhere except from what I found on this very website, I’m sorry, but I’m going to have to seize that it’s the same state objective re-packged to deceive people, and because of that I’m giving this one star.

THERE IS NO INFORMATION AVAILABLE ABOUT WHAT’S ON IT THAT’S Recent, so why award a company clearly out for profit?

For the last time, and I’ll be unprejudiced, it won’t be the last time for me… A&E should BE ASHAMED OF ITSELF for doing this.

I’m going to content everyone I know to behold out for this deception AND NOT Hold THIS Situation until I mysteriously vanish or this review is deleted, and since I’m the first one here to bellow my dissention, I’ll be on some faraway island soon enough, assigned a number, and then be forced to scrutinize Jim Caviezel sob.

Thanks for reading, and before I mysteriously die or vanish, read my other reviews and win out the truth for yoursel================================

Make some room on your DVD shelf next to your Yankeeographys because MLB Productions have a hit on their hands. They answered the 2004 Boston Red Sox box area with a Yankee compilation that was second to none.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The New York Yankees Fall Classic Collector’s Edition 1996-2001! Click Here

While the Red Sox state included only the 2004 World Series the Yankees collection includes some of the greatest World Series Games of the Joe Torre Era. The Red Sox location is guaranteed to last 86 years so it should hold the Sox fans elated for a long time. This spot includes five complete World Series Games, all of which are Yankee victories of course. And if that wasn’t enough, in addition to the complete games there are two bonus disks.

As spellbinding as the complete games are, unfortunately it doesn’t include John Proper and Michael Kay like the YES Network Yankee Classics do. It does include the unique national broadcasts, which has commentators that feature Bob Costas, Joe Buck, Tim McCarver and Joe Morgan. The report couldn’t be sharper and it does seem to be a stout featured DVD as opposed to some past releases.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The New York Yankees Fall Classic Collector’s Edition 1996-2001! Click Here

The fat games included 1996 Game 4 which features Jimmy Leyritz leading the Yanks benefit from a 6-0 deficit to a 8-6 extra inning triumph that tied the series at 2 all. The next game is another near from slow victory. The third game of the 1998 series features the Bombers beating San Diego ace reliever Trevor Hoffman.

The third complete game is another game three, this one again against the Braves that features a trek off homer by Chad Curtis. Mariano Rivera took a secure this time around instead of his usual do. The forth complete game DVD is a Game 5 series ender against the Mets in 2000, the first Subway Series since 1956. The Yankees won it in the top of the ninth on a single by smart sub Louie Sojo. Mike Stanton got the salvage in relief of Andy Pettitte. The loss went to veteran Yankee farmhand Al Leiter.

The final complete game while a Yankee victory is unique in the fact that the Yankees lost this series to the Arizona Diamondbacks. What made this game original was that this was the 911-year and due to the suspension of baseball that year at midnight of that game it became November. It was the first baseball game played in November. And Derek Jeter homered in the bottom of the tenth thus becoming the first “Mr. November”.

The two Bonus DVDs are worth the heed of admission on their gain. They include all the MLB World Series videos plus a plethora of bonus footage that includes Roger “Rocket” Clemens 2000 ALSC game 4 masterpiece. Other inclusions are highlights from Gooden’s No Hitter, David Cone’s and David Well’s Perfect Games, Jeter’s ALDS series saving flip, and many other highlights by names like David Justice, Jim Leyritz, and Paul O’Neill. There is abundance of leisurely the scenes footage that includes locker room, interviews and press conferences and considerable, grand more.

The packaging is a Trivia Buffs delight as it is beefy of boxscores, highlights and facts. It will jar your memory reading the cases alone.

These disks are a must have for Yankee fans. As soon as I posted the banners I saw many of you pre order these dazzling DVDs. So what are the rest of you waiting for?

The only regret I have about this DVD residence is that it isn’t as substantial as, or bigger than MLB’s overly indulgent 2004 Red Sox spot. The five games selected for presentation in this state are spellbinding to scrutinize in quality more pristine than any Yankee fan’s off-air recording might be, but the spot IMO could easily have included five more games from this era, including well-known ALDS and ALCS games as well.

The truly nice thing is that in presenting these game broadcasts, we pick up them unedited. The FOX and NBC graphics are left intact as are the promos for other shows, all of which usually gets cleave out of ESPN Classic replays. Chapter stops are conveniently keyed to individual half innings which is very top-notch for accessing key moments of the games.

The supplementary material also makes this space a must-have. The 2000 WS was the last official highlights video to be released in VHS only at the time it came out, so Yankee fans can now for the first time have the four WS highlight videos of 96-98-99-00 in a better format. Also, in difference to the supplementary material one finds in the Yankeeography discs, key games like the Wells and Cone perfect games are spotlighted with up to a elephantine half inning of action rather than fair one batter’s worth of action.

Yankee fans should hold this up and hope that MLB might do a Volume 2 area devoted to this vast era of the Yankee dynasty sometime in the future.

I objective watched this movie for a observe in my history class, and was completely captivated. I conception it was going to be a boring

school movie, but was amazed to regain otherwise. After the film ended, I was heartbroken because I wanted to peer it again. Fortunately, I know that it is available on video so I might retract it in the arrive future. Accelerate TO FREEDOM is a superbly acted, well dramatized historical film that displays the horror

of slavery with broad intelligence. This film is well scripted

and well laid out. The ending, though being very fairy-taleish

is extremely pleased and when it ended, our class clapped. Hehe, and when Solomon shot the bounty hunter (from ‘Cowboys Don’t Cry’), our class cheered. An obliging film.

This video is an proper addition to anyone’s library. It follows the journeys of four runaway slaves to the promised land in Canada. The filming is gorgeous and the record heartrending and worthy. Shows the incompatibility that human beings can form by helping one another against the odds. I would definitely recommend this movie.

I first saw “Amadeus” around 1984 when it was first released. Besides being a visual and musical masterpiece of film making, it kick-started my life-long worship of and appreciation for classical music.

I won’t bid the sage synopsis as it’s already been thoroughly described both by Amazon.com’s important review and multiple customers here already.

I will say though that this edition, ‘The Directors Cut’, is a major improvement over the first DVD release. First, (and finally!!), the movie is now a single-side DVD…gone is the annoying 2 sided ‘flipper’ that the first release was. You can now view “Amadeus” from originate to do without having to earn up and turn it over. For my money, that’s reason enough alone to fill this unusual version.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Amadeus! Click Here

Secondly, ‘The Directors Cut’ now adds about 20-30 minutes of previously deleted scenes, placed wait on into where they were originally intended. Personally I gain some of the newer stuff enhances the legend overall and fills in some details that were left vague in the unique theatrical release. I won’t give away any details, but there is a unique scene between Mozart’s wife, Constanza, and Salieri, Mozart’s chief musical rival (and secret arch-enemy) early in the movie that puts an whole fresh perspective of Salieri’s crooked and battered psyche.

As for the DVD itself, the relate and sound quality are both exemplary. Included is a second disk with bonus material including interviews and making-of extras.

If you loved the recent, you owe it to yourself to engage up this version. If you’re current to classical music and Mozart, this is the best spot to open.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

If you’re a fan of the unique theatrical nick of “Amadeus” you’ll have mixed feelings about the “Director’s Chop”. While I perfer the latter for a number of reasons, the feeling and prance of the unusual theatrical version differs somewhat from the “Director’s Sever”. The most well-known section are extended scenes that include Salieri agreeing to encourage Constanze if she has an affair with him. He ends up rejecting her when she shows that she so loves her husband that she would be willing to do so. A number of the opera scenes are extended as well with more business after the point to between Mozart and his leading lady. There’s also a longer sequence though-provoking Salieri’s visit to Mozart comissioning the “Requiem”. Most of the material adds to the power of the film while a few sequences honest give additional attend chronicle on various characters. The novel theatrical version which won an 8 Oscars runs about 25 minutes shorter than the 3 hour “Director’s Nick”. Forman also provide a involving commentary track for the film along with writer Peter Shaffer (”Equus”) .

The image quality for the “Director’s Slit” is advantageous to the unique theatrical version. The film was restored to its new luster for re-release resulting in powerful more natural flesh tones and a sharper visual image as well. The colors which play in distinguished fraction in conveying the themes of each sequence are more robust and intelligent. The theatrical version looks quite satisfactory although it was first issued on DVD as a “flipper” (meaning you had to flip it over) DVD after roughly two hours to gawk the last third of the movie. The sizable advantage for the theatrical version is Neville Mariner’s salvage on an isolated track.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Amadeus! Click Here

The second disc of the “Director’s Slash” has one terrific extra, a brief talent list and the modern theatrical trailer. The respectable behind-the-scenes documentary covers the highlights and difficulties that Forman faced in translating Shaffer’s stage play to the cloak. At nearly 40 minutes it could have provided more background including outtakes, rehearsals and auditions but it’s quite a few documentary as it is. There was plenty of room on the second disc to include Mariner’s isolated acquire but the documentary is really all we rep.

As to which is better–it’s a toss up. Both versions of the film work extremely well although I win the “Director’s Carve” for the added footage, the sharper more robust image quality and the higher definintion anamorphic transfer. I do miss the isolated Marriner earn of Mozart’s music that appeared on the recent disc in 5.1. Given the capacity of the second disc, it could easily have been transferred and would have added value to this special edition.

A yarn of envy, lust and madden “Amadeus” focuses on the brief life of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Mozart (Oscar nominee Tom Hulce giving a terrific performance) was a child prodigy who mild his first section at the age of 4 and produced a remarkably sizable body of work for such a brief life. His nemesis is court composer Antonio Salieri (Oscar winner F. Murray Abraham in a mighty performance) . This is really Salieri’s narrative as his jealousy drives him to demolish Mozart. Salieri is so consumed with his jealousy, that while recognizing the beauty and originality of Mozart’s music, he can’t attend but want to raze its creator. Salieri’s quaint compositions can’t have a candle to Mozart’s complex, unique and shimmering pieces.

Featuring inspired supporting performances by Christine Ebersole, Jeffrey Jones, Simon Callow (”Three Weddings and a Funeral”), the only performer that doesn’t do anything for me is Elizabeth Berridge as Constanze. She replaced Meg Tilly objective prior to shooting. The fine production create, cinematography and inspiring direction perform “Amadeus: The Director’s Sever” an experience worth savoring. This deluxe edition features a running commentary by director Milos Forman, writer Peter Shaffer (”Equus”), a vast 30 exiguous documentary on the making of the movie and a terrific 5.1 Dolby Digital remastered soundtrack. Restored from the recent film elements, the film hasn’t looked this robust and intellectual in quite some time. The digital anamorphic transfer looks capable and almost rich enough to eat. This version doesn’t replace the novel theatrical version but is more of an enhanced experience for those who loved the first film. Since this version runs roughly three hours, be prepared for a long evening.

Highly recommended, this examination of the destructive power of jealousy composed resonates with power, passion and improbable music. If you’re not an opera buff, I’d suggest skipping this for, while the film is mighty, fraction of the power comes from appreciating the music that Mozart wrote. We peep a lot of excerpts from a variety of Mozart’s operas throughout the movie. Whichever version of the movie you settle, you’ll clear to be tickled. I’d give the “Director’s Cleave” a petite edge for better narrate.

“The Sun Also Rises” was 20th Century Fox’s big-budget ‘prestige’ film

for 1957, based on Ernest Hemingway’s first modern, shot on plot in Paris and Mexico (substituting for Spain), and starring the studio’s long-reigning superstar, Tyrone Power, surrounded by legendary actors (Ava Gardner, Errol Flynn, Mel Ferrer, and Eddie Albert) . With all the talent assembled in front of and slack the camera, producer Darryl F. Zanuck felt confident that the film would be an enduring classic for both his beget independent company, and his studio.

It wasn’t, unfortunately…

The film’s quandary was a fundamental one; the ‘Lost Generation’

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Sun Also Rises! Click Here

Hemingway wrote of were disillusioned young Americans, who, shattered

by the apprehension and brutality of the ‘Great War’, lost their innocence, and became a ‘live quick, die young’ crowd of expatriates, settling in Paris. These were men and women calm in their twenties and thirties…yet the film’s stars were all ten to twenty years older! The most glaring case can be seen in the film’s star, Tyrone Power. As newspaperman Jake Barnes, a vet whose war injuries render him impotent, unable to satisfy the woman he loves (Ava Gardner), and, therefore, the ‘perfect’ observer of her romantic entanglements with other men, Power seems more a victim of a midlife crisis than a young man devastated about losing his manhood. In his next-to-last film, Power, at 44, was aging badly, his hair thinning and his slender, ‘movie idol’ edifying looks surrendering to a middle-aged paunch. Only when he smiles do the years seem to occupy, a bit, and the “too comely to be moral” younger man appears. Adding to his physical deterioration was an undiagnosed heart condition, which would ruin him, in less than two years.

His co-star, Ava Gardner, at 35, was going through a decline, as well, but, like her character, Lady Brett Ashley, her vices were the cause of her self-destruction. Both Brett and Ava were hedonistic women too fond of booze, bullfighters, and nightlife, and Ava’s once-classic features were beginning to produce bags and wrinkles that makeup and lighting couldn’t screen.

Coming off best are Errol Flynn and Eddie Albert. Flynn, at 48, long past his ‘glamorous’ prime (he and Power had been Hollywood’s best-looking ’swashbucklers’ of the early 40s), had become a very credible character actor, usually portraying variations of himself. His ‘Mike Campbell’, an alcoholic, impoverished but clinging to his pride, was, sadly, a dead-on assessment of Errol Flynn, as well. Like Power, he would be expressionless in two years, a victim of his absorb excesses. On the other hand, Eddie Albert, at 49, had long been health-conscious, and his performance as a drunk was simply top-notch acting; paired with Flynn, they ’steal’ the film, particularly during the well-known Pamplona bull race, when the duo soar for their lives (while guzzling wine), and Flynn attempts to exhaust a terrible check as a cape to ‘fight’ a bull!

The drama seems overdrawn, the romance lacks ‘fire’, Robert Evans as a young bullfighter is terrible, and the resolution is a hollow one. Even with the radiant scenery, Hugo Friedhofer’s soaring film win, and Henry King’s skill as a director, the film fails to generate more than a curiosity value, at the glance of so many actors, past their prime, trying to seem youthful and dynamic.

The DVD offers many ‘added features’, including ‘behind the scenes’ photos of Power, Flynn, and Gardner, and director Henry King’s audio reminiscences of the production, possibly more enchanting than the feature, itself.

All-in-all, an ambitious misfire!

The 1926 “Sun Also Rises” was Ernest Hemingway’s first full-length modern. In the 1957 movie-version, Hollywood stars narrate Hemingway’s “Lost Generation”. Tyrone Power heads the cast as American news journalist Jake Barnes, who, after a World War I injury that has left him impotent, re-locates to Paris. Barnes links up with other lost souls, including the nymphomaniacal Lady Ashley(Ava Gardner) and the irresponsible drunkard Mike Campbell(Errol Flynn) . Barnes and his friends disappear to Spain, and participate in the annual Pamplona running-of-the-bulls. The fun is objective beginning. The cast includes Mel Ferrer, Eddie Albert, and Henry Daniell. The film’s best performance is delivered by Errol Flynn. It has been said that, in his role of the hedonistic, hard-drinking Mike Campbell, that he was merely playing himself. Fair or not, Hollywood took note; a film career was re-vitalized. His inviting performance here is classic. Sadly, decay from alcohol dimmed his future. He died two years later(Tyrone Power himself died two years later shooting “Solomon and Sheba” of a hear attack) . Filmed on state in Pamplona, Paris, Biarritz, and Mexico, “THe Sun Also Rises” was budgeted at $5 million. This sign unusual DVD transfer is the second DVD release, as it was also produced in August 2006, in a bare-bones edition. Cinema Club’s fresh DVD features many extras: Commentary by Frank Thompson, a conversation with director Henry King, a documentary on the production, the restoration, and Hemingway. There is also a trailer and a stills gallery. Colors are shiny. Blacks are pitch. This is outstanding, as the DVD is a crude bitrate, single-layered disc. Audio is adequate but without worthy range. “The Sun Also Rises” is the classic yarn of American ex-patriates caught up in dancing, parties, and drinking-til-dawn. What fun. What sadness. As the recount ends, one character sums it all up: “It’s all like a improbable nightmare. I contain in anything. Including nightmares..”

This was a apt movie from Maverick. Some movies from Maverick are iffy, but this one was well acted and had a excellent account. The lead actress is very dazzling and does a excellent job. The tale is status in England and Russia, and moves serve and forth nicely between the two. It has some explicit divulge keen a strip club and other sexual situations. This was all nicely done and erotic. All in all a friendly film if you want to peep a B movie with sex, and violence, yet a compelling myth to prop it up.

This was a surprise. I wasn’r expecting mighty with this movie, so was pleasantly surprised with how well this movie was done. First things first, If you are looking for an exploitation movie, this ain’t it. There are a couple of fairly brief shower scenes, and a fairly tame scene of sex between two women, but the overall focus was kept on the record itself. I have seen other work by Jag Mundra on the past, and this was probably one of the better ones. Worth a examine for distinct. Charlie S.

Being a kid is hard, and being a very successful rock group would be even harder, but the Partridge Family continued to pull an astonishing balancing act throughout 24 episodes of the 1971-1972. By now the David Cassidy bubble-gum machine was in pudgy force, but the Partridge Family remained a family reveal which treated all ensemble characters.

First up, Keith has to confront the truth about a girl’s singing in “Dora, Dora, Dora”, smitten with a guests beauty he does not want to admit that she cannot notify until ultimately hearing a tape for himself. He has another humbling experience during “In 25 words or less” because the winner of a teen magazine contest ultimately turns out to be 60-year venerable Gloria Neugast, (Kay Medford) not exactly the woman of his dreams. Gloria is initially nice, but she ends up driving the family nuts with her habits—and briefly continues this in a letter from her modern home

And that’s the other share of this sitcom’s charm. These international rock stars are a suburban family also prone to many of the other emotional experiences their audiences (in `concert’ and home viewing) are most likely to have. For all of the success this family composed enjoys, they play intimate venues and continue living in their home.

During “Anatomy of a tonsil” Danny has to gain his tonsils taken out and is disturbed. Because he was so convinced that he would die from the way, he is genuinely timid when he wakes up. However he is convinced that he cannot exclaim with his family anymore because his throat is sore immediately post-op. Danny continues believing this until his family uses a diminutive reverse psychology upon him to support him rejoining the group; best friend Punky Lazar himself is recruited as Danny’s `replacement’.

Keith tries to replace the `father figure’ after receiving Coach Dawson’s advice about being the eldest male in “Dr Jekyll and Mr. Partridge”. He has great intentions, but Keith does not realize that if he was not keen in attending `cultural events’ at Chris, Tracy, and Danny’s age (let alone now) they were not that enthusiastic either. Keith finally realizes that all of this parenting does not leave him with the time needed to complete his homework. The other Partridge kids also apologize for having gotten succor at Keith.

Another mishap occurs with “A epic of two hamsters”. Danny, Chris, and Tracy’s hamster-raising business collides with the reality of touring. The Partridges cannot secure a hotel which will accommodate lots of hamsters. Danny thinks giving a hamster away with the newest Partridge Family album will relieve alleviate things, but does not forecast how noteworthy work it is going to be in order to meet consumer expect.

Like many other families, the Partridge kids squabble, but they ultimately attempt to care about each other. During “Days of acne and roses”, Danny realizes the grocery store delivery boy Wendell has a spacious crush on Laurie. Rather than discouraging the `nerd’ from dating his sister, Danny and Keith aid him with dating tips and gaining confidence. Their lessons work large because he ends up going on a dream date, also getting attention from other young women. Laurie then becomes concerned that Wendell will ask her to go dependable, but he confides that he would like to play the field instead.

Rob Reiner guest star in “A man called Snake”. Because a young biker man camps out after Keith blabs mistaken information about his sister’s treasure life to a teen magazine, this is one of the creepier shows. Laurie ultimately goes to the dance with him after initially being weirded out by the attention. This is one of the episodes which (despite the distinguished guest star) does not fill up well. The family seems unaware that the `sensitive poet’ could actually distress Laurie.

The family has better luck when they remove up a hitchhiker named Jenny (Merideth Baxter Birney) during “Where do mermaids go”. She seems nice enough, but when she leaves a bank book containing one million after a few days at their house, Shirley becomes suspicious. She thinks that the money could have been stolen. As it turns out, the money really was Jenny’s to give, but the Partridge family was ultimately happiest being a suburban family who happened to depart with a psychedelic bus.

Finally, Ray Bolger (the Scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz) guest stars as Grandpa Fred Renfrew in “The fourty-year itch”. Wanting to live a more youthful life, Grandpa shows up at his daughter’s house unprejudiced as the Partridges are about to originate yet another tour. Things heat up when Grandma arrives, but everything is nicely resolved at the raze of the myth.

This series is a must for anybody wanting to pick a desirable groovy return meander down memory lane.

Long copy upright battles have kept this point to from continuing to release the remaining seasons. The first season included lost gems like “Together” and “Let the Proper Times in” and the release of season two opened the door for more lost songs and the fresh Chris.

I’m overjoyed they released this season, with all music intact. Now if the can obtain the rights to the songs in the remaining seasons, lets hope they accomplish the series! Near on! Get us delighted!

As fans probably already know, they have released the remaining seasons with all music intact!

Due to horrendous advertising that buried most of the movie’s charms, most people deem this movie is a b-grade kiddie flick. But ignore the brainless trailers and the bad extreme-sport ad campaign that accompanied the video release, and you’ll be rewarded with an unbelievable film.

The Iron Giant is complex and sophisticated enough to be a live-action movie, indeed more complex and sophisticated than the movies that trounced it at the box office (I’m talking to you, Inspector Gadget) . It is a noteworthy achievement of all the elements of a movie working at their very best.

The visuals are fabulous. The script is comical without resorting to cheap laughs. The characters are well-rounded. The pronounce talents are ideal, from the Giant’s rumble to Hogarth’s wide-eyed wonder (for a welcome change, a pre-adolescent boy does the vow instead of someone trying to sound like one) .

Most interestingly, the movie makes such a dynamic, empathic character of the titular hunk of metal that we genuinely care about his fate. At the film’s climactic scene, I was ashamed at the tears running down my face, until I saw that my three friends (all of us twenty-something, manly guys) were misty-eyed as well.

Anyone over the age of 8 will care for this film. If you don’t like animation, try this on for size. If you like all types of animation, leer it NOW. Even though the film’s marketing department apparently doesn’t want you to contemplate it, you’ll be blissful you did.

It is a shame that Warner Brothers chose to give an uninspired prerelease publicity campaign to the gentle, joyous and modern spicy movie, The Iron Giant. Precious few saw it in theaters.

Like the book, the represent takes plot in 1957, during the height of The Wintry War. The Soviet Union’s satellite, Sputnik, flies across American skies. Our country is filled with paranoia. What else may they have launched?

One stormy night off the sail of Maine, a broad object falls from the sky. A horrified sailor sees it and swears that it is a giant made of metal. The townsfolk chalk the epic off to the sailor’s like of drink. A giant made of metal, indeed!

A night or so later, young Hogarth Hughes, whose Mom is working overtime at the local diner, gets furious when his TV starts acting up. He goes to the roof to check the antenna and finds it missing. He then notices titanic footprints leading away from the house and into the woods. He grabs his deceased Dad’s old-fashioned army rifle and a flashlight and goes off in pursuit. He soon discovers that there is indeed a metal giant. In fact, he saves it when it bumps into some high voltage utility wires. The adventure has begun.

Rarely has a movie for children – or adults! – addressed the need to search for a level-headed solution to our problems as gently or as wisely as The Iron Giant. It never preaches and is always accessible. It does not address us from on high. It remains at our level. It also shows how clever we can be at overcoming the most unexpected obstacles. It reminds us that things alien to us are not always hostile to us. In fact, it is we who often begin the hostilities. Perhaps best of all, The Iron Giant examines these and other issues in the guise of a extraordinary myth that should beget almost anyone’s attention.

The animation is trustworthy. Most of the voices are kindly, especially Harry Connick, Jr.’s as Dean Cooper, a hip young artist. As Hogath’s reveal, Eli Marienthal speaks like a loyal boy, not a cartoon boy. Speaking for Hogarth’s mother, Annie, Jennifer Anniston gives her a loving quality. Vin Diesel does well with the most difficult content, that of The Iron Giant.

Rated PG for a couple of spooky scenes and a few aloof profanities. Recommended without reservation for children seven and up.

I am an all time fan of Spongebob and have enjoyed many laughs with it. But this is a mockery of the very name Spongebob! The jokes are poorly written and inspire only minimal laughter. Spongebob has turned from an all around nice guy to an nasty punk! Every time I hear him talk I want to veil my ears and yowl. I’ll admit there is some comic but only if you win pointless and ridiculous jokes droll. Honestly I passe to have high expectations for Spongebob but since “Where’s Gary” I’ve lost hope altogether in Spongebob. If you want Spongebob I highly recommend seasons 1, 2, and 3 that’s where the loyal laughs are.
